HOLA TRAVEL FRIENDS!!
It is officially SUMMER, and we are so excited to share our recent Cancun/Riviera Maya adventures with you!
Fresh from our visit last week with a suntan glow and so many inspiring moments shared with some amazing hotel / resort partners– we travel so you know!
Sharing some Experiences and Insider Travel Tips:
- Arrive at the airport early – like 2.5-3 hours before your scheduled flight departure – no matter if you are traveling domestic or international.
- You must be checked in, with checked baggage prior to one hour before your flight departure. If you do not, no bueno – you will be rescheduled for a later flight.
- Allow ample time and pack your patience – travel is back & all airports are super busy!
- DO NOT carry-on liquids greater than 3 ounces – they will be taken from you. Rather, pack in your checked luggage.
- Do you have TSA pre-check status? This means you do not have to strip down (almost literally) to go through airport security screening. It’s worth the $85.00 investment.
- Select your airline carefully – the least expensive airline transaction (some call it cheap) may not always be the best option. We love having advance seat assignments, complimentary in-flight beverages, free checked & carry-on luggage …. OKAY, we love first class!!
- PASSPORTS – it’s the perfect time to make sure it is still valid. Renewing a passport currently, with expediting (fee), is taking approximately 4-5 weeks. SO worth it to pay the expedite fee.
- WORK WITH A TRAVEL PRO ~ we manage all the details!
Our MEXICO journey began with the exhilarating news that our government eliminated covid testing for air travelers returning to the U.S. from an international destination!! Champagne toasting at breakfast – you bet! At each of the hotels visited that day (a total of 5), we could not contain the joy we felt by this long-anticipated news!! And, of course, this jubilation was shared amongst our Mexico hotel partners & friends!
Here’s the scoop:
- Official notification went into effect at 12:01am Eastern Time on June 12, 2022.
- The U.S. government will re-evaluate the need for the testing requirement every 90 days and that it could be reinstated if a troubling new variant emerges.
- Non-US citizens will still be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before entering the U.S. U.S. citizens are NOT required to show proof of vaccination.
- This is only a U.S. requirement, so it is still important to research and understand the entry requirements for your destination country.
- Now, the only requirement to return to the U.S. when checking in with your airline – complete the required contact tracing information.
The airports within the U.S. and airlines no longer mandate wearing masks. However, the Cancun airport (and many international airports) do require wearing masks while in the airport. SO – do not throw away that mask just yet!
During the 1.5 week spent in the destination, many of the hotels began to eliminate the requirement for their staffs to wear masks on property. This, of course, is a personal choice.
Your travel pros will always keep you up-to-date!
HOTELS/RESORTS WE VISITED ~
We had the pleasure of visiting a total of 13 hotels/resorts – several of which we called home for a few nights at a time. We carefully selected a mix that would accommodate all levels of Celebra-cations® ~ adults only, family friendly, groups, weddings, incentives/conferences, and a few that are exquisitely 5+ star with butlers & every imaginable level of over-the-top service! Most were first time visits, and several were brand new!
We are grateful for so many amazing partnerships/friendships and excited to share our new experiences with all of you! Let’s chat more about YOUR PERFECT VACATION VIBE!!
It is a beautiful thing when a career & a passion come together …
Wishing you peace, health, happiness & love ~
